MSc Topic
As an MSc student, I am working on the hazard assessment of debris flows that can be triggered by heavy rainfall in mountainous areas. In addition to field observations to examine the past traces of debris flows, I also analyze aerial photographs and satellite images. I estimate the spatial probability with an empirical debris flow model using parameters such as topographic, lithological and land use of the terrain. As a result, by analyzing the hazard assessment of debris flows, which are especially effective in mountainous areas, I aim to ensure that settlements or engineering structures in those areas, in short, human life can continue more sustainably in nature.
